The Axial SCX10 III 1/10 1987 Toyota SR5 RC brings one of the most recognisable off-road pickups into the world of scale rock crawling. Inspired by the real Toyota SR5, a vehicle known for tackling demanding trails such as the Rubicon and Johnson Valley, this model combines authentic styling with capable performance for challenging terrain. As Axial’s first officially licensed Toyota in 1/10 scale, it captures the character and presence of the original truck in impressive detail.
The realism begins with the detailed Xtra Cab body, featuring scale-moulded elements including the grille, headlights, taillights, and hood latches. Enhancing both appearance and capability are the licensed Trail-Gear components, including AR45P portal axles with fabricated-style housings that improve ground clearance and durability. The scale look is completed with officially licensed Creeper Lock beadlock wheels fitted with Interco Super Swamper tyres, reinforcing its rugged off-road identity.
Designed for both convenience and performance, the model uses a clipless body system for easy access without visible clips. The integrated battery tray, mounted on the rock sliders, accommodates a range of battery sizes and uses elastomer straps for secure placement. A lightweight composite exocage adds durability and aggressive styling while maintaining balance for better handling on technical trails.
Built on the proven SCX10 III platform, the chassis features a steel C-channel construction to reduce flex and improve suspension response. The LCXU transmission with dig function ensures efficient power delivery, while aluminium adjustable coilover shocks provide tunable suspension performance.
