Overview
The Axial 1/30 SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 RTR brings the unmistakable character of the classic Jeep CJ-7 to a compact, highly detailed RC rock crawler. Produced from 1976 to 1986, the original CJ-7 became one of the most recognisable models in Jeep history, combining rugged off-road styling with improved stability and everyday practicality. Its flat fenders, upright grille, exposed hinges and removable components remain iconic features of Jeep design.
Built around an officially licensed Jeep body, the SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 delivers a detailed scale experience in a small format suited to indoor obstacles, desktop terrain and technical outdoor trails. Its compact size encourages precise control, careful line selection and confident crawling through tight spaces.
Underneath, the purpose-built chassis features an angled skid plate to help slide over obstacles, ramped axle housings and high-clearance suspension links to reduce hang-ups. Forward weight bias supports climbing stability, while the short wheelbase improves manoeuvrability. An easy-access transmission also supports optional SCX24-compatible worm gears, allowing further drivetrain customisation.
Three distinct versions offer different styling options. The Crawler Version features an officially licensed Jeep CJ-7 GenRight ABS hard body inspired by modified off-road builds, paired with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tyres and Raceline Daytona wheels. The Classic Version features an officially licensed Jeep CJ-7 ABS hard body with a removable hard top, chrome-plated accents and detailed interior and exterior features, complemented by Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tyres and American Racing AR23 wheels. Each version combines authentic Jeep styling with functional crawling features.
Spektrum electronics include an SLT2 2.4GHz radio system with throttle limiting to help beginners build confidence, alongside a Spektrum 2S LiPo battery and USB charger. Full ball bearings, low-mounted electronics, clipless body mounting and functional front and rear LED lights complete the package.
With injection-moulded ABS hard bodies, officially licensed wheels and tyres, and a fully detailed interior featuring scale cockpit elements such as shifters, a cup holder, armrest and steering wheel, the Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 offers impressive scale authenticity.
