Overview
The Junkers Ju 290A-5/7 "Seeadler" model kit represents one of the most distinctive long-range aircraft of the Second World War. This reissue restores access to a kit that had been largely unavailable since 2009, giving collectors and modellers the opportunity to build a detailed replica of this four-engine maritime aircraft without relying on the secondary market.
Derived from the Ju 90 passenger aircraft, the Ju 290 was adapted for military use as a long-range reconnaissance platform over the Atlantic. Its primary role was to locate Allied convoys and coordinate with German submarines, supported by its extended range and defensive armament. Known to the Allies as the “Sea Eagle,” the aircraft became a notable presence in maritime operations during the war.
