Italeri 1/72 AV-8B Harrier II 90193
Overview
The AV-8B Harrier II is a versatile attack and close air support aircraft developed through collaboration between British and American aeronautical industries. As an advanced evolution of the original Harrier family, it introduced significant improvements in performance, payload capability, and operational flexibility while retaining its distinctive vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) capability.
Designed to operate without the need for conventional runways, the AV-8B can be deployed from aircraft carriers without catapults, amphibious assault ships, and even improvised landing strips. This flexibility has made it particularly valuable to the United States Marine Corps, which has used the aircraft extensively in a variety of operational environments.
With the ability to carry a wide range of ordnance—including air-to-air missiles, guided bombs, and air-to-surface weapons—the AV-8B is capable of performing multiple mission types. Its combination of adaptability, payload capacity, and unique flight characteristics has established it as an important asset in modern military aviation. This model kit represents the aircraft with multiple marking options and detailed components.
