Airfix 1/72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat A02070
Overview
The Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat 1:72 Scale Model Kit captures the spirit of one of the US Navy’s most resilient fighters during the early Pacific campaigns of 1942. This skill level 2 kit provides 58 detailed plastic components, offering an engaging build for modellers aged 8 and above. The completed model has a wingspan of 160mm and includes two authentic paint schemes, allowing hobbyists to recreate this historic aircraft with accuracy and personal flair.
The F4F-4 Wildcat was a compact yet durable fighter that defended US carriers and played a critical role in the counteroffensive following the attack on Pearl Harbour. Despite the challenges posed by the agile Mitsubishi Zero, American pilots used innovative tactics to maximise the Wildcat’s strengths, keeping it effective until the F6F Hellcat became widely available.
This kit celebrates the iconic F4F-4 variant, reflecting its significance in the Pacific Theatre and its reputation for toughness and reliability. Modellers can enjoy building a historically faithful representation while exploring the aircraft’s unique design features.
