Hornby 1/76 BR Early Class A3 60063 Isinglass Steam Generator R30476SS
Overview
The LNER A3 Pacific returns in striking form with No. 60063 ‘Isinglass’, presented in BR Express Blue and equipped with both factory-fitted DCC sound and advanced steam generator technology. This OO gauge model captures the powerful presence of one of Sir Nigel Gresley’s most recognisable locomotive classes, combining visual accuracy with immersive operational features for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Built using detailed research and original works drawings, the model features a die-cast chassis and finely reproduced motion components, ensuring both durability and realistic running characteristics. The inclusion of decorated crew figures, turned brass fittings, and a fully realised cab interior adds further authenticity, making it a standout addition to any layout or display.
The integrated Gen 2 steam system enhances realism by synchronising exhaust effects with wheel movement using an optical sensor. Combined with high-quality DCC sound recordings taken from real A3 locomotives, this model delivers a multi-sensory experience that brings steam-era railways to life. Please note, operation requires a compatible DCC controller or the HM7000 app system.
